Cookie policy
We set one cookie, and it exists only to keep you logged in. This page lists it, explains the two things your browser remembers for you, and shows how to clear or block any of it.

1. What this policy covers
This page covers the cookies and browser storage used on Register Quick LLC. It goes with our privacy policy, which covers everything else we do with personal data.
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. Two related tools, localStorage and sessionStorage, let a page remember something in your browser without sending it anywhere. We use very little of any of it, and none of it for advertising.
2. The one cookie we set
We set a single cookie, rq_session, and only after you log in. Browsing the public site sets nothing.
- What it does. It holds a random token that tells our server which signed-in session a request belongs to. Without it you would have to type your password on every page.
- What is in it. The random token and nothing else — no name, no email address, nothing about your company. On our side we store only a hash of that token, never the token itself.
- How long it lasts. Up to 30 days from the moment you sign in. Logging out deletes it immediately, in your browser and on our server.
- How it is set.
httpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it;SameSite=Lax, so another site cannot make your browser send it along with a cross-site request; andSecureon the live site, so it only ever travels over HTTPS. - Is it essential? Yes. It is strictly necessary to provide the logged-in account you asked for, which is the one category of cookie that does not need consent under EU and UK rules.
3. What your browser remembers, without a cookie
- Your theme. A localStorage entry called
rq-themerecords whether you chose light or dark mode, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit. It stays until you clear site data, and it is never sent to our server. - Your chat conversation. A sessionStorage entry called
rq-chatholds the conversation you are having with the site assistant, so it survives moving from one page to another. sessionStorage is tied to that tab and disappears when the browsing session ends.
Neither of those identifies you or follows you to other sites. The messages you type into the chat are sent to our AI provider so it can write a reply, which is why we ask you not to type sensitive personal data into it — the privacy policy explains that in full.
4. Cookies set by Cloudflare
Cloudflare sits in front of this site for DNS, TLS and CDN, and may set its own security cookie to tell real visitors from automated traffic and to keep the site up under attack. That is a security function, not advertising. We do not use it to track you and it tells us nothing about who you are.
5. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies. Nothing here follows you to another site.
- No analytics cookie building a profile of what you read.
- No third-party tracking or social-network cookies.
- No selling or sharing of personal data for advertising — there is nothing of that kind to sell.
6. Why there is no cookie banner
Consent banners exist for non-essential cookies. We do not set any, so there is nothing to ask you about and nothing for you to click away before you can read a page. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent before the cookie is set, and this page will be updated first.
7. How to see, clear or block cookies
Every browser can list the cookies a site has stored, delete them, and block new ones. Menu names move between versions, so if these paths do not match yours, look for a Privacy section in the settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, and Delete browsing data to clear what is already stored.
- Safari on Mac: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Safari on iPhone or iPad: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Clearing site data also removes the theme and chat entries described above. A private or incognito window discards cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage when you close it.
8. If you block our cookie
You can read the whole public site — guides, prices, comparisons and the chat — with cookies switched off. What you cannot do is stay logged in. Blocking or deleting rq_session ends the session, and the app will send you back to the login page, because there is no other way for us to recognise a signed-in request.
Clearing cookies is a quick way to get signed out on a shared computer, but logging out properly is better: that also deletes the session record on our server.
9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal asking sites not to track you or sell your data. There is nothing here for those signals to switch off: we run no tracking cookies, no advertising and no data sales, whether or not your browser sends one.
10. Changes to this policy
If we add or change a cookie, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live. A new non-essential cookie would need your consent before it was set.
